Founded in 1914, Troop 511 is the older Scouts BSA troop located in Burlington, Massachusetts, and one of the oldest troops in the entire country.

Our goal is to help all young men and women grow into responsible adults who will help shape and lead our future... and have fun with their friends.

By providing an open, inclusive and fun atmosphere, teaching the ideals and lessons found uniquely in the Scouting experience, we hope to instill the qualities of leadership, responsibility, and self-reliance that will benefit both the scouts and the community at large.

Visitors are welcome to all meetings - feel free to "test-drive" scouting with us.

We would like to invite all youth (boys and girls) 11-17 years old and their families to experience the adventures Scouting has to offer. Troop 511 has been a Burlington, MA landmark for more than 100 years. Today we are more dedicated than ever to provide an exciting and fun, but also safe and clean environment to help our children grow into responsible adults. Scouting is a character-forming program that goes far beyond the usual after-school activities:

It starts with basic scouting activities like camping, merit badges, pioneering. In small groups of 6-8 boys (or girls), the scouts explore their own world and make lasting friendships with others all over the world. The scouts integrate themselves into a group of like-minded peers and take responsibility for their community, by dedicating time to community and service projects.

While progressing through the program, they learn to help younger scouts find their way and take leadership roles within the Troop and the Spirit of Adventure Council.
